Sorry for the late reply. Looked at your steam id, it looks like you was only banned from the Pro Servers and not the Non Pro Servers. If you was banned from the Pro Servers it's more than likely because you didn't follow the Pro Server rules listed here:

Set your Scope detail to high(or whatever the max is for scope detail). As for the skin, sell the gun at the trader, then suicide. it should be correct the next time it loads.

It's perfectly fine. Farming doesn't necessarily take more kills than what would be fair, sometimes it's just a less labor intensive way of leveling up since I can sit in one place and just attack enemies from a little hidey hole.
